PORNO START su SECOND LIFE.
.jpg)

Please introduce yourself.
My name is David Rosado and I´m a Visual Artist.
I was born in Évora, Portugal, May 3rd 1976.
I have a degree in Painting/Multimedia from Universidade de Évora
Where do you live and work?
I live and work in Lisbon / Portugal.
How would you describe your work to someone who has never seen it?
It is a non-linear process.
My day to day resembles the action of closing your eyes with strength and open them in a sudden.
All fuzziness in the beginning but soon black and white spots in the air, moving and flashing constantly.
“Obsessive organization of seemingly unrelated flashes/ideas/notions/spots” is the simplest description of my art.
How did you start in the arts? How/when did you realize you were an artist?
My first self-expression came through music but soon I realized the need of visual arts to fully express myself.
My first song was written in 1995 and my first plastic work (which was a piece of shit!) was produced while at University, in 1999.
I do not know when, if ever, the transition to an Artist occured. I have always felt the daily need to express myself. This is my only concern.
What are your favorite art materials and why?
I do not have any favourite materials. They are all good to me.
What/who influences you most?
From Spinal Tap to Cicciolina anyone/anything that generates a provocative though influences me.
Describe a typical day of art making for you.
My typical day starts at about 8h30, with email reading and a cup of black coffee, listening to Parkway Drive.
From 9:00 to 18h00 all I do is painting and sketching in my atelier. After that I do, at home, research in magazines, books and the internet to be used in the following day.
Do you have goals, specific things you want to achieve with your art or in your career as an artist?
I want to be put alive in a tank of Damien Hirst’s work and swim a bit.
Other than that, I just want to keep painting, doing what I like to do the most in life.
What contemporary artists or developments in art interest you?
My closest links are with the Portuguese contemporary scene and all it’s ramifications, but I follow closely several foreign artist, among which Damien Hirst, Matthew Barney, Maurizio Catelan, Marina Abramovic, Allison Schulnik, Martin C. Herbst, Max Papeschi, Gino De Dominicis.
How long does it typically take you to finish a piece?
It obviously depends on the piece, but on average slightly less than a week.
Do you enjoy selling your pieces, or are you emotionally attached to them?
Yes I do like selling them. What matters to me are the forward steps.
Is music important to you? If so, what are some things you're listening to now?
Other than my work (Reptile, DarkDave and Prime) I like to listen to Parkway Drive, at the drive in,
Sole, Valient Thorr, Tosca, Kaney West, Most Precious Blood, Mc Santiago, Him, Cradle of Filth, John Zorn,
We are the Damned, Anthrax, Napalm Death, Noyz Narcos, Truceboys, If Lucy Fell, Atreyu, etc…
Books?
The Flatland, The Winter, De Profundis – Valsa Lenta, A Balada do Subúrbio, “El animal Publico”,etc...
What theories or beliefs do you have regarding creativity or the creative process?
I’m inspired by the current overload of information between people and spaces, physical spaces that people fill in society such as their marks in those spaces, making the gap of communication a lot bigger pushing the development of their sociability to a direct confrontation
What do you do (or what do you enjoy doing) when you're not creating?
Playing music, doing sports, reading my books and hang out with my friends.
Do you have any projects or shows coming up that you are particularly excited about?
Yes sure.

PORNO START
In Milan, the first art exhibition of pornography and eroticism theme.
This is not a “simple” exhibition for a city which has often censured without comparison in this way.
Porno Start under a title certainly provocative maybe ever more curatorial intentions.A collective exhibition born by knowing which eroticism, pornography and sex always was one of principal theme of art and also create it’s erotic note generating strong vital impulses.
The works on show, in various forms of expression, show the fantasy preferences and interpretation from the single artist of argument.
From aesthetic eroticism by Buttò to new pop poetic with subtle and ironic meaning by Max Papeschi to sarcastic images by Benain.
The artistic language used to differentiate among themselves, from digital paint to performance art and photography.
The intention does not show the sexuality's sake, but the artistic erotic component in more and different style and research. The eroticism which is shown, are often allusive.
The exhibition favour a very aesthetic eroticism. The figures which are represented here, consume little sex, the sexuality is consumed in the artist’s creative relation with his object or in critical reflection of the role pornography and eroticism.
Does the behaviour of the people change in front of sex and eroticism today?
There is a big interest in artistic works which are combined with literature, art and pornography.
Starting from this point, we can believe that the exhibition will be not only accepted by the people but also will take their attention.
PORNO START, start like one of the beginning triad collections on themes which move the spirit and human dynamic from ancient times; sex, religion and power.
The intention is the combine the final vision which demonstrate relations, interaction, conflicts e contradiction between each subjects.
ARTISTS: Saturno Buttò, Laurent Benaim, Max Papeschi, Danilo Pasquali, David Rosado, Roberto Pattina, Persefone Zubcic, Massimo Festi, Giuseppe Petrilli, Pietro Spirito, Emanuele Benedetti, Japi Honoo and more.
